Weekly Horoscope August 5-11, 2024

Week in Overview

I’m pleased to say that this week looks relatively positive overall. It is a bit like the calm before the storm, a prime time to tie up loose ends and set things in order before the intensity of the following week hits. Clearing up any lingering issues or unresolved matters now will make navigating the challenges ahead a lot smoother.

Since Monday has mostly passed by the time you’re seeing this, I won’t dwell too much on it. Just a quick note: Venus moved into Virgo on Sunday, bringing a shift toward a more practical and detail-oriented approach to our relationships and finances. Additionally, Mercury is retrograde and will soon revisit the positions it occupied over the weekend and last week. This means we’ll be revisiting and renegotiating issues from that time.

On Monday afternoon into Monday night, the Moon did form a stellium with Venus and Mercury in Virgo, creating a powerful alignment that invited us to delve into the finer details of our lives. This conjunction highlights Venus’s first aspect in Virgo - a time for reflecting on relationships and personal values. As Mercury is retrograde, this is a chance to revisit and renegotiate what we want, potentially shedding light on areas that need adjustment or refinement. The Moon in this Virgo stellium enhances our ability to gain insights into what needs fixing, helping us to focus on the nitty-gritty aspects of our relationships and desires. What do you want and does it tick all the boxes?

On Tuesday, August 6, watch out for some potential tension as the Virgo Moon squares Mars in Gemini in the afternoon, which could lead to tense standoffs and even fights.

Mars is getting closer to Jupiter in Gemini, and the Moon will also square Jupiter later that night, adding to the testy atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the Leo Sun is applying in a positive sextile to Jupiter, delivering an optimistic boost to the day. This should override much of the lunar tension if we can keep our eyes on the bigger picture and open our hearts. Do we want to lose a good thing because of petty arguments?

Additionally, Saturn in Pisces, currently retrograde, is starting to form a square with Jupiter in Gemini, which might bring challenges from structures and authority, adding another layer of tension. It might not be the best couple of weeks to fight a legal issue or anything else to do with authority.

As Mercury retrograde moves backward and gets closer to a conjunction with Venus in Virgo, we're likely also rethinking and renegotiating matters related to relationships, values, and finances in a very detail-oriented way.

Late Tuesday night, around 9 PM, the Virgo Moon will trigger a T-square with Jupiter and Saturn, creating a potentially edgy environment and possibly foreshadowing future challenges.

Those with placements in Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces around the middle degrees, should be extra cautious as this alignment might spark confrontations or frustrations.

On Tuesday, while we sleep, the Virgo Moon will oppose Saturn retrograde in Pisces exactly. This could bring about a restless night. We might have some frustrating dreams or a sense of tension.

On Wednesday morning, August 7, around 6:30 a.m., the Leo Sun at fifteen degrees will be exactly sextile Jupiter in Gemini, creating an uplifting and optimistic energy. This is enhanced by Mars, which is approaching that exact conjunction with Jupiter. Mars adds to the enthusiasm and drive, amplifying opportunities for bold actions and expansion. This can be an exhilarating time for many, full of big ideas and lots of confidence.

However, it's important to note that Saturn in Pisces retrograde at eighteen degrees is building into the square with Jupiter at fifteen degrees, casting a shadow over the otherwise exuberant energy.

This introduces some restrictions or doubt, reminding us that while there is potential for growth, there may also be challenges to overcome.

Later in the evening, just after 8 p.m., Mercury retrograde in Virgo will exactly conjunct Venus in Virgo. This is a significant opportunity for reassessing and redefining relationships and finances.

Expect to revisit and renegotiate what we value and how we handle our resources. This could lead to clarity and deeper understanding but also might bring up separations, break-ups and those important reevaluations, especially with the expansive Mars-Jupiter energy pushing for change.

On Wednesday night, the Virgo Moon will trine Uranus in Taurus, likely bringing sudden insights and inspiration. Even though the Moon is in practical Virgo, this trine could set off bursts of creativity and the desire for change.

Just be cautious as Wednesday night wears on when the Moon opposes Neptune in Pisces at the anaretic degree. A confusing and unsettling transit. This opposition could make it easy to overthink or get lost in the fog, so watch for misunderstandings or a tendency to escape.

On Thursday, August 8th, the Moon will enter Libra just after 2:30 a.m., and soon after, around 3:30 a.m., it will trine Pluto. This overnight trine could bring inspirational insights or deep reflections as we sleep, possibly revealing new perspectives or emotions.

Meanwhile, during the day Mars continues to approach its conjunction with Jupiter, remaining within three degrees. Although this pairing brings energy and expansion, it’s still dealing with the shadow cast by Saturn in Pisces, adding some sort of restriction or doubt.

We want to make big moves but might feel limited by an external authority. Almost feeling like we just had a sports drink but are now stuck at the start line, because of some technical delay and we are wasting that energy waiting for the start gun to go off.

Meanwhile, Mercury, retrograding through Virgo, is revisiting previous thoughts and plans, picking apart the details, adding to the “slow down and reflect” atmosphere.

In the evening, around 6 p.m., the Moon in Libra will conjunct the South Node, which could usher in a strong sense of nostalgia. We might find ourselves reminiscing, reflecting on connections that have faded away, and feeling the urge to revisit old patterns or relationships.

Overall, Thursday presents a mix of conflicting energies. While Mars and Jupiter push for expansion and excitement, and the Sun in Leo desires recognition and fun, there's also a significant focus on introspection.

With Chiron, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto and Mercury all retrograde, there's a strong theme of revisiting and re-evaluating.

A time when the desire to move forward and break free is tempered by a deep, contemplative mood, making it challenging to fully embrace current opportunities.

So try to find a balance on Thursday. While the energies push us to engage, have fun, and seek new experiences, it's equally crucial to take time for self-reflection and self-care. Leo season and the dynamic energies of Mars and Jupiter in Gemini can be intense and draining. We can't do everything or be everywhere at once. So, make sure to carve out moments to recharge.

On Friday morning, we have some excellent astrology for productivity and socializing. The Libra Moon will be trining the building Mars and Jupiter conjunction in Gemini, bringing in a lot of vibrance and energizing many of us.

The Leo Sun will also sextile the Libra Moon, creating a harmonious sextile triangle by the afternoon. This is perfect for getting out there, having fun, and networking. However, keep in mind the lingering shadow of the Saturn square to Jupiter, which might cast a bit of doubt or restriction. You can have fun but you still have to be practical in this reality.

With Mercury, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, and Chiron all retrograde, there's an underlying contemplative energy, but the morning's aspects offer a good boost for social activities.

Just be aware that the Moon will go void-of-course just before 3 p.m., lasting well into Saturday afternoon. It’s a good idea to finish your tasks in the morning and then take it easy in the afternoon. Relax, enjoy the summer, and avoid making major decisions by Friday afternoon.

Saturday, August 10th, might be a bit intense. As the void-of-course phase ends just after 3:30 p.m., the Moon will enter Scorpio and immediately square Pluto retrograde in Aquarius.

This could bring a tense, edgy atmosphere, heightening feelings of introspection and paranoia. People might find themselves delving deep into their emotions and subconscious.

Jupiter and Mars are closing in on their conjunction, bringing a surge of energy and a desire for expansion and excitement. However, Saturn’s square to Jupiter continues to add a layer of caution or restriction. The day might feel wired but tired, and quite moody.

As Mercury moves to two degrees of Virgo, we’re still in a phase of reevaluating and rethinking details. The Scorpio Moon will make a supportive sextile to retrograde Mercury in the evening, which could help in diving into the deeper aspects of our emotions and subconscious, potentially leading to profound discussions.

Sunday, August 11th is mostly a continuation of Saturday afternoon, but without Pluto’s influence. The Scorpio Moon remains in place, and the energy from all the retrograde planets, plus the ongoing square between Saturn and Jupiter, still lingers.

Jupiter and Mars are inching closer to their conjunction in Gemini, while Saturn in Pisces keeps applying pressure. That wired but tired theme hangs in the air.

On Sunday, the Scorpio Moon will sextile Venus in Virgo, which might bring some insightful moments regarding relationships and finances. This could be a time for deep, meaningful conversations and possibly even breakthroughs if you're open to delving into the details.

COMING UP…

Wednesday, August 14th is shaping up to be quite an intense day. The waxing Sagittarius Moon will start by opposing the exact conjunction between Mars and Jupiter in Gemini, creating a tense mutable T-square with Saturn in Pisces.

With Mars and Jupiter, both ruled by Mercury right now and Mercury itself retrograde in Virgo, there's a potential for chaotic communication and frustration, especially as Mercury moves back into the final 29 degrees of Leo by the evening.

The day could be chaotic, with a mix of intense frustration and a desire for freedom. But where there’s friction there can also be change.

It will all be building up to Monday, August 19, when we will be facing a highly charged Full Moon in Aquarius at 27 degrees, in a tense fixed T-square with the Sun and Mercury in Leo, and Uranus in Taurus. This is intense and volatile, sparking sudden changes or conflicts, especially around themes of freedom and recognition.

Adding to the tension, on the same day Venus in Virgo opposes Saturn retrograde in Pisces, while both square and therefore reignite the Jupiter-Mars conjunction in Gemini, creating a second T-square.

There could be struggles around relationships, values, and responsibilities, making for a day where emotions and situations can feel unpredictable and challenging, especially for those with fixed or mutable sign placements. So for a change, Libra, Capricorn, Aries and Cancer might catch a bit of a break on the astrological wheel.
