Weekly Horoscope July 8-14, 2024

Week in Overview

The start of this week is perfect for getting our ducks in a row whether professionally or with our relationships, and Tuesday could be very productive. Wednesday can be a day where we see the light, realize what is truly important and speak with our hearts. But when Venus enters Leo, on Thursday, July 11 and begins to oppose Pluto, hold onto your hats because the pressure will just keep on building...

Monday, July 8, is a packed day. Starting in the pre-dawn hours, Venus in Cancer forms an exact sextile with Uranus in Taurus. This can bring sudden, unexpected insights into relationships and can add a spark of excitement and surprise. Financially, it could also present us with interesting opportunities or shifts.

Another major highlight of the day is Mercury in Leo forming an exact sextile with Jupiter in Gemini. This is great for communication, and optimism, and really helps with expansive thinking. Mercury is also trine the North Node in Aries, while Jupiter is applying in a sextile to the North Node. The fantastic interplay between Mercury in Leo, Jupiter in Gemini, and the North Node in Aries is all about big, confident communication, future planning, and the potential for growth and abundance.

Adding to the mix, the Cancer Sun is beginning to apply in a trine to retrograde Saturn in Pisces. This is a stabilizing influence, highlighting our long-term goals and how they relate to our self-identity. It's a good opportunity to reflect on commitments and reassess our plans with a more disciplined and realistic approach.

Does what we have been doing make sense, is it a sensible use of our resources, is it nurturing us at the highest level? The retrograde of Saturn is very much about revisiting past efforts, looking at our structures and refining them so that we can reap the rewards later.

Also be aware that on Monday, the waxing Leo Moon will introduce some challenges as it squares Mars in Taurus in the afternoon and Uranus in Taurus in the evening. This can increase some tension, and impatience, and cause unexpected sudden disruptions.

But Monday morning especially is an excellent time for making progress on your goals, getting out there talking to people who believe in you and embracing all sorts of new opportunities.

Tuesday, July 9th, looks like a great day for getting things on track. The Moon enters Virgo just before 7 am, bringing a detail-oriented and practical energy to the day. The Virgo Moon is excellent for organizing, refining, and taking care of the small details that help us achieve our bigger goals.

Jupiter in Gemini is forming an exact sextile to the North Node in Aries. This is allowing us to grab opportunities to expand our horizons and make significant progress toward our destiny. It's a highly communicative aspect, perfect for networking, sharing ideas, and getting plans moving in the right direction. But we can’t sit back waiting for things to happen, we have to get out there.

The Cancer Sun is also applying in a trine to retrograde Saturn in Pisces. This supports revising our plans and ensuring they nurture us and align with our long-term goals. It's an excellent time to make practical adjustments and solidify our foundations, checking that everything is not only comfortable, but also grounded in reality and serving our highest interests.

Venus in Cancer is applying in a trine to Neptune in Pisces. With Neptune retrograde, this helps us to tune into our highest values and spiritual alignment without getting lost in illusions. It's about finding beauty and inspiration in our connections and creativity while remaining grounded and realistic.

Overall, Tuesday is a perfect day for making meaningful progress, aligning our plans with our true values, and ensuring we're on a path that nurtures and supports our highest good. Make the most of it!

Wednesday, July 10th is a very important and rather beautiful day.

The trine between the Cancer Sun and retrograde Saturn in Pisces which we have felt build this week, is exact tonight. Water trines are deeply emotional and intuitive, here combining Cancer's nurturing qualities with Pisces' spiritual depth.

Retrograde Saturn in Pisces wants us to revisit our long-term goals, responsibilities, and commitments in a way that's introspective and soul-searching but also sustainable. Is this something I can commit to not just now, but over time? It's about finding security and structure in areas that support our emotional well-being and spiritual growth.

Wednesday encourages us to reflect on our self-identity, true purpose, and how we can manifest these in practical ways.

Venus, now at the critical 29 degrees of Cancer, is almost exact in her trine to retrograde Neptune in Pisces. This absolutely heightens our sensitivity and compassion, making us more attuned to beauty, creativity, and spiritual connections.

However, with Neptune retrograde, there's a need to distinguish between idealism and reality, avoiding pitfalls of illusion or deception in relationships or financial matters. It's lovely for nurturing our emotional bonds and expressing our deepest affections to those that count, with sincerity.

Reach out to those who you love, but be careful not to get lost in a cloud of romantic idealism or self-sacrificing.

This can quite possibly happen because later on Wednesday, the Virgo Moon opposes Saturn in Pisces and sextiles the Cancer Sun. We have to watch for a tendency to get caught up in rescuing others or playing the martyr. Today there's a risk of sacrificing too much for others. Virgo's detail-oriented nature and Pisces' compassionate tendencies can sometimes make us neglect our own needs in favor of helping others. Try to maintain healthy boundaries and prioritize self-care while not closing off your heart.

Monday through Wednesday have been supportive and nurturing, focusing on long-term goals with a strongly intuitive and compassionate undertone. And we get one final burst of this divine energy on Thursday morning, when Venus in Cancer, is exact in her trine with Neptune retrograde in Pisces, both at those critical final 29 degrees.

This is a poignant farewell to the qualities of Venus in Cancer that we've experienced since mid-June. It carries a deep, psychic resonance, full of compassion, creativity, and spiritual connection. Take some time to reflect on how you've nurtured yourself and others during this period. Be open to sudden insights and try to find a quiet morning moment of reflection if you are up.

On Thursday morning, the Virgo Moon's trine to Mars and Uranus in Taurus also energizes us to not just be lost in a dream, but to get practical. We could get a sudden insight for example on a new way to make money that is in line with our core values, or how to improve our relationship so it is more emotionally fulfilling. It can be a morning where we can harness these downloads to actively organize and tackle any task.

At 9:19 a.m., Venus then enters Leo. Venus in Leo brings a big shift in our values, relationships, and finances from cautious, caring and introverted, towards more expressive and playful. Venus in Leo can make everyone warmer, more affectionate, and also bring out the inner attention-seeker. Venus in Leo is all about grand gestures and passionate displays of love and appreciation.

Venus now in Leo, begins to oppose Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. This opposition creates a volatile dynamic, stirring up intense emotions. The combination can be explosive, full of jealousy, obsession, frustration, and with relationship secrets coming to the surface. Couples may face challenges as hidden issues come to light, potentially leading to confrontations or even breakups.

Adding to the tension, Mars in Taurus is approaching its conjunction with Uranus in Taurus, which will be exact on July 15. This combination is known for its disruptive and unpredictable energy. We’re already feeling the buildup, causing a sense of pressure and restlessness. Mars with Uranus can trigger sudden actions, surprising revelations, and a break from the norm. Mars' assertiveness with Uranus' unpredictability can lead to impulsive decisions and unexpected changes. This given the tension between Venus and Pluto, can manifest in relationship issues boiling and coming to the surface. And some simply choosing to cut ties.

Meanwhile, the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune in the evening just before it enters Libra. Making emotions even more prickly and potentially causing confusion or misunderstandings.

Once the Moon enters Libra on Thursday night, just after 7 pm, it can take some of the edge off. The Libra Moon's sextile to Venus and trine to Pluto offers a chance to ease the tensions that are building up, sort of like a pressure valve. Before getting caught up in a fight or stonewalling, remember in a healthy relationship you are on the same team. You both win and lose together. So take a breath and approach clashes with consideration, kindness and where possible focus on compromise.

Friday, July 12th is the continuation of Thursday and will lead us into a charged weekend. Venus is exactly opposite Pluto in the morning, while Mars is nearing its conjunction with Uranus, and the Moon is conjunct the South Node in Libra.

Venus opposite Pluto really turns up the heat on emotions in relationships, bringing out jealousy, power struggles, and a desire for big changes that go to the heart of the matter. People may feel frustrated, wanting more from their relationships or experiencing conflicts due to hidden truths coming to light.

With Mars nearing Uranus, there's that trigger happy potential for impulsive actions, sudden changes, and erratic behavior, adding to all that tension.

With the Sun also approaching its square to Chiron, old wounds might resurface, making it an incredibly challenging time emotionally.

The Moon's conjunction with the South Node on Friday afternoon could be full of nostalgia and a tendency to dwell on the past. It can also reveal unresolved emotional issues, getting us to reflect on past relationships and patterns.

Fixed sign placements in those early degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio will really be feeling things on Friday. As well as the same fixed signs but around those 23-27 degrees. Everyone will be challenged however to try to keep things in perspective and not let impulses run the show.

Saturday, July 13th, things are heating up. Venus is quickly pulling away from that intense opposition with Pluto, but we've got more challenges on the horizon. Just after 3:30 PM, the first quarter Moon in Libra squares the Cancer Sun.

Libra craves peace, balance, and beauty, steering us away from the emotional depths of Cancer season. But we've also got a T-square involving Chiron in Aries. Chiron opposes the Libra Moon, and both square off against the Cancer Sun. Libra, seeking harmony and beauty, confronts Chiron in Aries, dredging up old wounds and insecurities. This tension intensifies as both sides clash against the sensitive Cancer Sun's need for nurture and security. Saturday can feel a bit like passing through a storm on an unsteady boat—emotions surging unpredictably, sparking conflicts or sudden painful revelations. The Cancer Sun wants to feel everything while nurturing ourselves and others, but we have to balance that with Libra's need for harmony and Chiron's raw wounds resurfacing.

Adding to the mix, Mars in Taurus is almost exactly conjunct Uranus, ramping up the volatility. Emotions and the actions of others can be unpredictable - even explosive - this weekend.

The Libra Moon goes on a long void of course on Saturday afternoon just before 4pm until it enters Scorpio Sunday morning just before 8 am, so avoid making any major decisions for the rest of Saturday.

The whole day is potentially unstable with high stakes. It's so important to find ways to show ourselves compassion and care and step away from anything that starts to veer into chaos or hostility. And remember, you can't pour from an empty cup.

Sunday, July 14th, is a potential minefield. The day begins with the Moon entering Scorpio just before 8 am, after a long overnight void-of-course phase. Almost immediately, it squares Pluto in Aquarius, and by noon, it forms a T-square configuration with Pluto in Aquarius and Venus in Leo. This setup re-triggers the fading Venus-Pluto opposition, dredging up old feelings of obsession, paranoia, and unappreciation. The Scorpio Moon, known for its depth and intensity, can amplify all of these dark emotions, making them feel almost overwhelming.

Adding to this turbulence, the Cancer Sun is applying in the square to Chiron in Aries, shining a spotlight on vulnerabilities and old wounds. Making people even more sensitive and reactive, increasing the likelihood of emotional outbursts.

All of this is further exacerbated by Mars in Taurus, approaching its conjunction with Uranus in Taurus, set to perfect tomorrow. Sunday we are adding fuel to the fire with restlessness and unpredictability, and even more volatility to an already charged atmosphere.

Sunday through to Monday is going to be marked by intense, potentially explosive emotions for a lot of people. Relationships may face sudden changes or even breakups. This is a battlefield of emotions that will test the stability and resilience of many.

COMING UP…

On Saturday, July 20, Mars enters Gemini until September 4. Mars in Gemini is all about quick thinking, communication, and adaptability. Expect a busy period filled with short trips, socializing, and a fast pace of life. Managing stress and anxiety becomes crucial as the energy of Gemini here can easily lead to burnout.

Sunday, July 21, packs a punch, on the last day of Cancer season, finishing with the Full Moon in Capricorn at 29 degrees. The second Capricorn Full Moon in a row, the last was around the summer solstice, now bringing a culmination of themes around responsibility and ambition vs family life and self-care. The Sun at 29 degrees of Cancer and the Moon at 29 degrees of Capricorn will both be making supportive contacts with Neptune retrograde in Pisces. This has the potential to make this Full Moon not just very sensitive, but also much more creative and compassionate.

The entire day will be packed with really potent transits, as Mercury in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, which could mean unexpected news or sudden verbal blowups. On the brighter side, Venus in Leo sextiles Jupiter, bringing optimism and joy in relationships and finances. Mars in Gemini will also trine Pluto retrograde in Aquarius, giving us the power to transform and tackle tough tasks. All before the next big shift, with the Sun entering Leo just after midnight that night.
