Weekly Horoscope June 24-30, 2024

Week in Overview

This Gemini season, which just ended last week, was so busy for me, especially the very end. I had so much communication coming in, non-stop emails, made so many trips and new connections, and there was so much going on that I'm kind of happy to now be in Cancer season, as moody and introspective as it’s looking. I need things to slow down a little bit, as much as I love excitement. Hopefully you had a productive Gemini season and are ready for a little self-care. We are winding down and going slowly more inward now, with the waning moon and the Cancer stellium. We already had Mercury squaring the nodes, next up is Venus, to be followed by the Sun into next week.

And this is really the main aspect to watch this week right from Monday through to Thursday: Venus in Cancer squaring the nodes. It will be exact on Wednesday morning, but felt from Monday.

This can create tension in our relationships, finances and values. It shows where we need to balance our desires for emotional security and comfort with our hunger to assert our independence and pursue our goals, while letting go of old patterns and dependencies. We might suddenly become aware of relationships or situations that no longer nurture or support us, or where we may be clinging to the past or staying in our comfort zones instead of moving forward toward growth and independence.

Venus in Cancer is all about emotional security and nurturing connections, and this week there is a tension between our desire for those and the need to evolve and pursue our true path.

It can reveal relationships that are holding us back or not contributing to our emotional well-being. It may feel like there is someone or something standing in our way, preventing us from fully embracing our potential. This can of course put tremendous pressure on close relationships. Wherever you have personal planets around the 11 degrees of the Cardinal signs of Cancer, Aries, Libra or Capricorn will really be feeling this.

However, along with this potentially disruptive transit, the sextile between Venus in Cancer and Mars in Taurus is an important counterbalance. It will also be felt all through this week and be exact late Saturday night. Mars in Taurus brings a practical and determined energy that can help us work through any challenges in those areas Venus rules. While we may face obstacles in our relationships, there is also the potential to make things work if we approach things with patience and persistence. Mars in Taurus is all about taking steady, deliberate actions to resolve conflicts and build stronger, more supportive connections.

Mercury is forming a trine with Saturn for most of the week, culminating in an exact aspect on Wednesday morning. This is another stabilizing influence amidst the potential challenges of Venus squaring the nodes. This helps with clear communication, disciplined thinking, and practical decision-making. It's another sign to approach our responsibilities and commitments with maturity and wisdom, so we can find constructive ways to address any obstacles or conflicts that may arise. With Mercury trine Saturn, we're able to tap into our inner resilience and find solutions that are grounded in reality and long-term planning.

Ultimately, this week is very much about reassessing our relationships, finances and values, letting go of what no longer serves us while working carefully to nurture and strengthen the connections that truly matter. If we can be mature, heart-centered, and honest about what our emotional security needs are, while tapping into our courage to pursue our true path, there’s a lot of cosmic support to helps us navigate through any difficulties.

A note about Tuesday afternoon: the waning Aquarius Moon will square Uranus in Taurus before going void of course from 3:30 PM until just after 11:00 PM when it then enters Pisces. This could make Tuesday afternoon a bit edgy, with the potential for unexpected disruptions or changes of plans. The square to Uranus can cause restlessness or impulsiveness, but once the Moon goes void of course, it's definitely best to avoid making major decisions or initiating new projects.

With Venus building in that square to the nodes, try to be patient in matters of relationships, finances, and values. Tuesday afternoon and night are better for reflection and introspection rather than action. Wednesday morning, as the square between Venus and the nodes perfects, the Pisces moon can make us feel extra sensitive, so be kind to yourself.

As we finish out the week, Mercury in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries, felt as early as Thursday and exact on Friday morning. This may bring up feelings of vulnerability and insecurity in communication and thoughts. Words could be triggering and there could be uncomfortable texts, contacts or even ghosting by some. Remember adults use words to express themselves, so if someone is reactive or stonewalling at the end of this week, it’s a reflection of the work they need to do.

Friday in particular looks set to be a very sensitive and possibly unpredictable day. We have the third quarter moon square in Aries, exact just before 3 PM, signaling a time of reassessment and adjustment as we approach the end of the lunar cycle. We might feel restless and want to take action to make necessary changes to align ourselves with our goals.

The Aries Moon will also be sextile Jupiter, giving us more optimism, boosting our mood, and opening us up to new possibilities. Despite the tension of the square between the Moon and the Sun, the sextile with Jupiter is a ray of hope and encouragement.

Mercury will also be applying in a sextile to Uranus in Taurus on Friday, which will be exact on Saturday evening. This is great for originality, as it excites our thoughts and communications. We want to think outside the box, embrace new ideas, and express our thoughts with clarity and spontaneity.

But, with Aries' tendency towards impulsivity and Cancer's sensitivity, there's a possibility for emotional reactions and outbursts on Friday. Additionally, the Cancer stellium of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus is very sensitive and prone to shutting down when things look uncertain.

But, also on the night of the third quarter moon square, Venus will be exact in that sextile with Mars, improving cooperation and collaboration. This can help smooth over any tensions or conflicts that may arise during the third quarter moon square, allowing us to see opportunities for reconciliation and compromise.

Saturn in Pisces is going to station retrograde tomorrow, on Saturday, so Saturn is basically standing still on Friday. This adds another layer, because Saturn's retrograde wants us to reflect on our responsibilities, limitations, and long-term goals. Friday can definitely bring up themes around karmic lessons or karmic relationships. This can add a fair bit of heaviness or seriousness to all that's going on.

Overall, the combination of the third quarter moon square, the Moon's conjunction with the North Node, Venus sextile Mars, Mercury sextile Uranus, and Saturn getting ready to station retrograde makes for a very intense Friday. Do your best to stay grounded; it is better for introspection and reflection, taking note of those brilliant Mercurial ideas, rather than going out or starting something new.

Then on Saturday, June 29, just after noon, Saturn in Pisces stations retrograde until November 15. This will be an ideal time to revisit our long-term goals and consider whether they truly align with our spiritual path and higher purpose. We will want to confront any illusions that might be hindering our progress toward our dreams. This can, of course, be uncomfortable, but very necessary. Because it is retrograde in Pisces, we will want to rely on our intuition and inner guidance, rather than cold hard facts. And because Saturn is about restrictions and limitations, while Pisces is fluid and limitless, for much of the rest of this year, we will do well by going more with life's flow, allowing our instincts to guide us.

On Sunday morning, when the waning Moon enters Taurus, it will square Pluto in Aquarius. This can bring up feelings of intensity or power struggles. It can sometimes stir up deep-seated emotions or provoke confrontations, forcing us to deal with any issues or fears that may be holding us back. Those with personal placements around the 1 degree of Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio or Leo will have to try extra hard to remain calm.

Once the moon moves on further into Taurus, by around 9 am, the tension slowly dissipates, so try to relax for the rest of the day and enjoy a sense of stability and groundedness. It's all about comfort, security, and sensuality. Indulge in simple pleasures and take time to appreciate the beauty and abundance around you.

Because something else is brewing: the Sun is starting to square the nodes. We might start to become more aware of frustrations or issues related to our sense of purpose, direction, and authenticity. We may feel a pull between familiar patterns and behaviors and new opportunities for growth and expansion. It's good to slow down and think about our priorities, releasing any old attachments that may be holding us back, and be willing to make the changes necessary for our personal evolution.

COMING UP…

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 2. In the pre-dawn hours, Neptune stations retrograde in Pisces until December 7th. Right after that, Mercury in Cancer will trine Neptune in Pisces. Then, just an hour later, Mercury enters Leo and begins to oppose Pluto, all on the same day as the Sun squares the nodes. Making for one heck of a day.

While Neptune is direct, especially in Pisces, its influence can be overwhelming and lead to confusion, illusion, and delusion. However, when Neptune goes retrograde, it's a bit like turning down the volume on those effects. During this yearly six-month period, we're encouraged to explore our inner worlds, tap into our intuition, and gain insight into our subconscious motivations and desires. It's perfect for spiritual introspection, healing, and releasing any illusions or fantasies that may have been clouding our judgment.

Neptune stationing retrograde just moments before the trine with Mercury will mark a beautiful transition from the introspective and nurturing energy of Cancer to the more outgoing and confident energy of Leo.

It's a moment to draw on the insights gained during Mercury's journey through Cancer and carry them forward as we step into a new chapter of self-expression and creativity in Leo. It can be a special, psychic, and attuned morning.

At the same time, on July 2, the Sun will also be exact in its square to the nodes, challenging us to confront any obstacles or blockages that may be hindering our progress toward our karmic destiny.

Meanwhile, Venus will also be exact in the trine with Saturn that day, adding stability and commitment to our relationships and values.

And Mercury, once in Leo, will be opposing Pluto.

So, on this potent day, we will likely be reassessing our relationships and committing to those that are in alignment with our values and goals, and voicing our concerns and frustrations around those that are not meeting our needs.

It can be explosive, but if we can speak our truth, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate relationships that support our evolution, it's a potent moment to find our authenticity, voice, and courageously express ourselves, even if it means shaking things up in the process.

Finally, the new moon in Cancer on Friday, July 5th, is perfect for setting intentions as it makes a harmonious trine to Saturn. It's all about initiating new beginnings, particularly in areas related to the home, family, emotions, and nurturing. It will take place just a few hours after the dark moon squares the nodes, so we might want to confront any lingering emotional baggage or outdated habits that are holding us back from fully embracing the present moment and moving forward on our path. New moons are a time of fresh starts and planting seeds for the future, and in the nurturing sign of Cancer, the focus will be on emotional security, connection, and lots of self-care.
